Ecstatic Dance

The People's Theatre

Sunday, November 19, 2023, 3PM

DJ Lunagirl on Sunday, November 19, 2023

Event Description

Ecstatic Dance Honoka‘a is back with another special Saturday Evening Dance on Saturday, March 18, 2023.

We invite you to move with us on “Honoka‘a Green & Gold Day” as we celebrate Spring Equinox and promote Hō‘ā & Hāmākua Harvest’s Aloha ‘Āina Spring Equinox Planting (Sunday, March 19), and Hawai‘i Farmer’s Union United.

Facilitating this dance, we’re honored to host one of the Big Island’s dance music pioneers, Odysseus.

From what we gather, Odysseus has something very unique planned for us, as he will be accompanied by special guests performing alongside him during his set. Joining him for this dance are Samantha Smith, Marika Ripke, Hayden Spector, and Michael Drummer.

We can’t wait to see what he has up his sleeve!

Check out her Earth Dance set.

An avid DJ and music enthusiast of all types, Lunagirl holds down a weekly radio show on Wednesday nights from 6 PM to 8 PM on the community-supported Radio Alchemy. On her weekly show, she shares her style and energetic sounds of Drum and Bass, Deep House, World Fusion, Elemental Sounds, and much more to move the soul of so many listeners. She loves raising the vibe through the universal and healing language of music and is excited to invite you to the dance floor for her first-ever Ecstatic Dance set

SAGE DALY (Yoga + Sound Bath)

For this upcoming ecstatic dance event, we are honored to have Sage Daly guiding both the yoga practice and sound bath.

For the past ten years, Sage has used the mat as a means to connect with the divine through her breath and movement. She recently started teaching yoga in January 2021 and is passionate about creating a space for her students to explore their bodies and rewire their nervous systems. With an emphasis on feeling postures and plenty of opportunities for modification, Sage’s classes are gentle and accessible to all.

In addition to her work in yoga, Sage is also a weaver of sound, movement facilitator, psychedelic integration guide, and ceremonial space holder. She is deeply committed to using elements of sound, movement, and cacao to help individuals connect with their body, mind, and spirit. Through self-exploration and energetic movement and release, Sage aims to help individuals reclaim the parts of themselves that have been lost or fragmented. Her goal is to create spaces that allow for exploration beyond the surface and open the heart to oneself and others.

After the dance, Sage will facilitate a sound bath to help us deepen our connection with ourselves and the world around us. Perfecto!
