Event Description

Ecstatic Dance Honoka‘a is back with another special Saturday Evening Dance on Saturday, March 18, 2023.

We invite you to move with us on “Honoka‘a Green & Gold Day” as we celebrate Spring Equinox and promote Hō‘ā & Hāmākua Harvest’s Aloha ‘Āina Spring Equinox Planting (Sunday, March 19), and Hawai‘i Farmer’s Union United.

Facilitating this dance, we’re honored to host one of the Big Island’s dance music pioneers, Odysseus.

From what we gather, Odysseus has something very unique planned for us, as he will be accompanied by special guests performing alongside him during his set. Joining him for this dance are Samantha Smith, Marika Ripke, Hayden Spector, and Michael Drummer.

We can’t wait to see what he has up his sleeve!

SPECTOR

Spector

Highly recommended by several of the Island’s top DJ talents, we are excited to bring Spector to guide our Honokaʻa Ecstatic Experience.

Never afraid to go deep, Spector’s selections bring humanity and soul onto the dance floor. From moving and organic layered deep house to spiraling psychedelic bush progressive, warped drum & bass, funky electro, and melodic conscious bass or hip hop, his sounds range across the emotional spectrum.

For dancers, it’s good to know Hayden’s first passion is for the people; as a Percussionist, DJ, Father, Eclectic Enthusiast, and Truth Seeker, he’s continually honing the craft of storytelling through sound and finding ways to create connections and movement. Spector’s sound is guaranteed to soothe, serenade, and shake the soul awake!
