Ecstatic Dance Honoka‘a is back with another special Saturday Evening Dance on Saturday, March 18, 2023.
We invite you to move with us on “Honoka‘a Green & Gold Day” as we celebrate Spring Equinox and promote Hō‘ā & Hāmākua Harvest’s Aloha ‘Āina Spring Equinox Planting (Sunday, March 19), and Hawai‘i Farmer’s Union United.
Facilitating this dance, we’re honored to host one of the Big Island’s dance music pioneers, Odysseus.
From what we gather, Odysseus has something very unique planned for us, as he will be accompanied by special guests performing alongside him during his set. Joining him for this dance are Samantha Smith, Marika Ripke, Hayden Spector, and Michael Drummer.
We can’t wait to see what he has up his sleeve!

Madelion exclusively DJs intentional dance events and has organized and facilitated nearly 1000 dances in her career with artists from around the world. As Co-Founder of Ecstatic Dance Salt Lake City, Madelion knows dance is sacred, that’s why dancers trust her unique creations for a fresh and diverse journey within to sweat their prayers.
Her musical inspiration derives from her deep connection to the healing power of music and dance as medicine – an expression of the self through movement, forming the glue that holds communities together and providing the foundation upon which we discover the shared meaning of our lives. She honors the Spirit of Dance, Dance being the embodied response of the entire spectrum of human emotions that connect humans to the divine vibrations of a life of inter-being.
On the dance floor, as stewardess of sound, she surrenders to the role of doula, inviting thirsting bodies towards renewal in the river of the Ecstatic. Luring the slumbering muses and mystics within the fabric of our souls to awaken to the sounds of angelic voices and thundering drums, she harnesses the efforts of generations of technology, both modern and ancient.
Master of many healing modalities, yogi since 2001, and living in magical Hawai‘i since 2004, Jamie brings massive aloha to everyone she touches. Join her for yin-yang yoga designed to balance energies inspired by the new moon in Gemini ahead of E-dance on June 17. She will be sharing some favorite chants kirtan style, joined by Dr. Hana Roberts and other musical guests following E-dance.
