Ecstatic Dance Honoka‘a is back with another special Saturday Evening Dance on Saturday, March 18, 2023.
We invite you to move with us on “Honoka‘a Green & Gold Day” as we celebrate Spring Equinox and promote Hō‘ā & Hāmākua Harvest’s Aloha ‘Āina Spring Equinox Planting (Sunday, March 19), and Hawai‘i Farmer’s Union United.
Facilitating this dance, we’re honored to host one of the Big Island’s dance music pioneers, Odysseus.
From what we gather, Odysseus has something very unique planned for us, as he will be accompanied by special guests performing alongside him during his set. Joining him for this dance are Samantha Smith, Marika Ripke, Hayden Spector, and Michael Drummer.
We can’t wait to see what he has up his sleeve!

ANDY FREELAND (aka OPULENCE)
Andy Freeland is a mind-bending multifaceted seeker of sounds for the highest transformational experience. As a longtime Big Island Ecstatic Dance facilitator and mastermind of Audio Alchemy, Inspiral Lounge, and much more, Andy is known for building richly textured walls of sound, bringing together old and new, light and dark, masculine and feminine in intersectional landscapes whose many sides shimmer with mystery.
His attention to detail and clarity in sound draws us deeper as choice aspects flicker into colorful crescendos, leaving dancefloors in gleeful harmonic dissolution before guiding spirits back through sweet sonic synthesis into a profound resolve. Andy sets an intention of dance as an initiation for collective growth—a vibe architect that creates temples of sound for dancers to journey within, together, connecting and crystalizing the civilizational evolution of these times back to the foundations of the very ground beneath our feet.
Join us as we welcome Andy fresh from the new lands of Pele to the deep storied soils of Hāmākua, letʻs take this journey together.

AMANDA ROSE (Yoga + Sound Bath)
Amanda Rose has been a yoga student for 16 years and a certified teacher for 7 years. Her classes are rooted in the yin and hatha styles, and she brings sound healing, pranayama, and chakra theory to her offerings. Please bring your mat, towel, water, etc…
Amanda will also be hosting the closing sound bath. She will bring a blend of instruments and vocal expressions to her sonic creations, as well as a loving presence.
